An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Twenty ninth day of July in the Thirteenth Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
Sarah Downes< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of Thomas Bradley< no role >
William Slack< no role > , Thomas Rycraft< no role > , Richard Wyott< no role > , Joseph Seger< no role > , John Gilbart< no role > , Robert Snowden< no role >
William Lachwall< no role > , John Trender< no role > , Alexander Grant< no role > , Thomas Poyntill< no role > , and Joshua Brooks< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Sarah Downes< no role > came to
h er Death, do upon their Oath say That the said Sarah Downes< no role > in the Twenty seventh
day of July in the Year aforesaid at the Parish and in the Liberty and County aforesaid to
wit at a certain Place called the King's Private Road leading poor Pimblico to Chelsea
in the said Parish Liberty and County being in a very weak, emaciated and Diseased
State of Body occasioned by a irregular course of Life, by the Visitation of God
did then and there Dye a Natural Death, and not by any Violent Means. In Witness
whereof as well the said Coroner as the Foreman of the Jurors aforesaid on behalf of
himself and the rest of the said Jurors have to this Inquisition set their Hands and
Seals the Day Year and at the Place abovementioned.
