Samuel Hambury< no role > House Surgeon to Westmr Hospl. on his Oath says
he saw the Deced brought on Wednesday last in a Coach to the
Hospital, and he appeared quite delirious, a Consultation of
Surgeons was then called and his Head ordered to be Trepanned
a contused wound appearing on the back part of the Head, he
was accordingly Trepanned, he continued growing worse from the
time of the Operation and the all possible means was taken
that was judged necessary and proper he Died this Morning about
3 o'Clock, upon Examining his head since a large quantity of
extravacated Blood was foundin thebetween the Dura and
Pia Master in the left he Misphere of the Brain, which was
the cause of his Death

Elizth. Thompson< no role > Day Nurse to Westmr. Hospl. on her Oath says
that on Tuesday last between 1 & 2 o' Clock she saw the Deced
coming out of the Surgery of the Hospl, & she was Ordered by
Mr. Dickinson Mr. Pyle the Surgeons Dresser to make a Bed up
and put him to Bed, the Deced then came into the Ward, &
she persuawed him to go to Bed, he refused saying to wanted

to go home to his Children, he said he had no Wife upon
His Deponents as being him the Question but said he had a
Person that looked after his Children, the Deponent then said he
had better said to her or they would, and desired him to go
to Bed as the Surgeon had Ordered, but he could not be prevailed
upon to stay, Deponent went & acqd. Mr. Dickinson who came
& used all importunities he could, but to no purpose, for
he went away by himself, says he was brought in a Coast
to the Hospital the next Day, and brought into her Ward, &
she never hard him speak afterwards.

John Johnson< no role > on his Oath says that on Tuesday last between
1 & 2 o Clock, he saw the Deced after he had fall and he was
carried to Mr Alexander's in Dartmouth Street , by the desire
of Mr. Alexander's Shopman he was taken to Westmr. Hospl,
& the Deponent went with him in a Coach, & the Surgeons of
the Hospl. Examined him, Dressed him & Bled him, had a
Consultation whether it was prudent for him to stay in the
House or go home, they first Agreed He should go home, &
