Informations taken this Eleventh day
of February 1773 at the Parish of St. George
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County
of Middsex upon an Inquisition touching the
Death of John Walsh< no role > Lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

William Winterton< no role > of Abery Farm on his
Oath Sixth That Yesterday Morning before
Twelve o'Clock being in found that some Men
were going to Search for John Walsh< no role > the Deced
who was Supposed to have been Drowned in the
River, upon Which he went, and about one
Hundred Yards above the Floodgates, and late
the Floodgates and Chelsea Bridge he saw some of
the Workmen belonging to the Water Works,
Pull the Deced out of the River Drowned, Says
that the Deced lay in the River upon his face
that the Deced's Forehead was a Little Scrateble
but that he saw no other Marks upon the Deced
and this Dept. says that he saw the Deced at
the Queen's Head Last Monday Morning about
Seven o'Clock when he appeared to have been
Drinking but was not quit Drowned and said that he had a Letter to
deliver to Mr. Maybank at the Turpentine House from Mr. Smith, that
he heard there had been words between them, and
did not care to deliver the Letter but that he must
do it or disoblige Mr. Smith And this Dept.
further saith that he verily believes that the
Deced was Accidentally Drowned
