Thomas Davies< no role > a Lodger of Mr Bingner in the Garret on his
Oath saith, That he same house last Friday Night
a little after ten o'Clock, and on his knocking at
the Door the Deced opened it and let the Dept. in,
she appearing to be then in Liquor, but stood in
the Passage and with a Candley light this Dept. up Stairs, Says that
in a Quarter of an hour or lass he heard Miss Harris
a Lodger cry out Fire, upon which Dept. came down
Stairs and in the Bedchamber at the feet of the
Bed he saw the Deced lying on the Floor with
he Cloaths on Fire, Say that the Deced groaned but
did not cry out, Says that he called some People
in whoassisted the Deptendeavoured to put out
the Fire. Says that he immediately went to call
Mr. Bingner from the Playhouse and when he
returned he saw the Deced in the Passage, with
her Breasts & Neck burnt, Says that she was laid
upon the Bed and soon after carried upon a
Chairman's Horse to St. George's Hospital where she died on the 24th day of Septr. lost as Dept. was informed And that
Dept. believes that theverilyDeced set her Cloaths on
Fire with the Candle, owingto herbeing in Liquor
