Informations taken this Ninth day of May 1772
at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square within the Liberty
of Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon on Inquisition
touching the death of James Haley< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Mark Horsman< no role > Servant to William Aislabie< no role > of Grosvenor
Square in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square within the Liberty
of Westmr. Esqr. in the Capacity of Under Butter on his Oath saith
that yesterday about five o' Clock in the Afternoon Dept. went
out leaving James Haley< no role > the Deced when was Butler to Mr.
Aislabie in the House, Says that he returned a Little after
Seven o'Clock that Evening, and about half an hour after
Seven Dept. being in the Back Parlour head the Report
of a Pistol or Pistols below Stairs, upon which he immediately
ran down Stairs into the Puller's Pantry, where the Deced
usually Slept, and upon the Bed there saw the Deced
lying down on his Back upon the Bed, and on Dept. Speaking
to him the Deced groaned, but could not make any Annex
Says that he found a Pistol upon the Floor, and that the Poor
smelt strong of Gunpowder, and was dark, Says that he
called Elizabeth Longstaff< no role > Isabella Thickston< no role > and Jane Hill< no role >
three Maid Servants who went with Dept. into the Room
with a Candle, and then Dept. saw two Wounds one on
each side of the Deced's Breast, and his Waistcoat on Fire
around the Wounds, Says that he then found another Pistol
upon theFloorBed, and found that the Pistols had been discharged
and this Dept. believes that the Deced shot himself with
the two Pistols abovementioned, Says that Mr. Thompson a Surgeon was
fetched, who extracted a loaden Bullet out of the Deced's side
but Deced was dead, Says that he has lived Mr. Aislabie's
Family about three and twenty Years, with the Deced, Says
that he believes that the Deced for a Year and an half last
past has at times been Disordered in his Senses.
