Informations taken this 27th. day of April
1772 at the Parish of St. John the Evangelist within
the Liberty of Westmr . in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the death of Luke
Franks
< no role > lying dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

Paul Williams< no role > Servant to John Williams< no role > of the
Parish of St. John the Evangelist Westmr. Coach master
on his Oath saith That Luke Franks< no role > the Deced was
likewise Servant to Mr Williams and Worked in his
Stables in Vine Street in said Parish, Says that about
Seven o'Clock last Saturday Evening (April 25.) the Deced
& this Dept. left work, and soon after parted, Says
that yesterday Morning between Seven & Eight o'Clock
this Dept. was going to Feed a Horse in one of Mr.
Williams's Stables in Vine Street, where he found
the Deced hanging leg a thick Cord or Halter, which
was fastened around a Wooden Beam, and about
the Deced's Neck, Says that he with the Assistance
of John Terry< no role > and a Coachman loosened the Cord [..] the Beam
by which the Deced was Hanging, and laid him on
the Ground, Says that the Deced was dead but not
Cold, and believes that the Deced Hanged himself
Says that the Deced on Saturday last appeared to
be uneasy, and not chearful as he used to be
and believes that the Deced was not in his perfect
Senses.
