Informations taken this Twenty seventh day
of April 1772 at the Parish of St George Hanr. Square
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the death of Elizabeth Hughes< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty and Coutny.

Edward Fox< no role > of Sackville Street in the Parish of St. James
Westmr . Apothecary on his Oath saith That he has known the
Deced for Several Years [..] the Deced for the last two or three Years
became infirm in Body, was Seized about ten weeks [..]
an Irruptive Fever which rendered her more Nervous and [..]
Dispirited, from which was apprehended that she would either
have attempted, her Ladies or her own life, Says that it was
thought necessary to have sent her to a House of Reception for
the Insane at Cheshunt in Hertfordshire , but apprehending in
case of Recovery the reflections on it, might occasion a rel [..]
removed her only to Newington Butts , from whence Deced
returned to her Lady's House in lower Grosvenor Street on
Friday last, when her fears of being superseded is though
by this Dept. with the former State of her Mind, to be the cause
of this Act of Suicide.

Agnes Castle< no role > of Castle Street Piccadilly on her Oath saith
That about nine weeks ago this Dept. was recommended to
attend the Deced as a Nurse, Says that she was with the
Deced about a Month at Newington Butts , who had a Fever, and after [..]
when the Fever was Abated, grew Melancholy and [..]
Spirited, Says that she came with the Deced so for [..]
in Grosvenor Street last Friday, Says that She [..] the
Deced yesterday, and agreed to go with the Deced this
Morning to the Cold Bath, and when she went to Lady
Cecils this Morning for that purpose, she was informed
by one of the Maid Servants that the Deced had hanged
herself, Says that the Deced was sometimes so low
Spirited, as to be at him deprived of her Reason
And Says that the Deced said to Dept. that she had
very bad thoughts and was afraid of being alone
