Melancholy and unwilling to talk, Say, that he asked
the Deced the reason, but could not be informed, and
this Dept. believes that the Deced was at times Disordered
in her Senses.

Francis Tomkins< no role > of Oxendon Street Surgeon
on his Oath saith, That about Four o'Clock this
Morning Deponent was fetched to the Deced, whom
he found in Bed having a large Wound in his
Throat about the length of three Inches, and upon
Examining the Wound found that the Wind pipe and
Pullet were separated, Says that the Deced was their
dead or dying, and that the Wound abovementioned
was the cause of her Death.

Job Rogers< no role > a Lodger at Mr. Merry's the Deced
for about Eleven Years, or his Oath saith That he
was called up by Mr. Merry Meaning between three and
four o'Clock, Says that on going into the Deced's Room
(which adjoins to his own) he saw the Deced upon
the Poor and his Brother RichdFrancisMerry< no role > s endea-
[..] to support him, Says that Mr. Merry struck
a Light and this Dept. was desired to go for a Doctor,
[..] said that he went and that Mr. Tomkins a Surgeon
came there some time after, and on his Feeling
the Wound in Deced's Neck, said it was all over
and Deced died in a few Minutes. and he believes
that the Deced gave himself the Wound in the
Throat. And says that the Deced behaviour has
for three or four days last part been Melancholy and
low Spirited and different from what it used to be
and this Dept. says that he heard Mrs. Marry call Mr.
Richd. Merry< no role > Just before she called the Dept.

Brewer Smith< no role > of Hog Lane in the Parish of St.
Giles in the Fields Attorney at Law on his Oath saith
That he has seen the Deced Nicholas Merry< no role > several
times this Week and believes that he was Disordered
in his Senses.
