An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the thirteenth day of November in the Twelfth Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of Go, of Great-Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman ,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
David Jones< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of Thomas
Lyne

Thomas Heaton< no role > and William Plumerage< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said David Jones< no role > came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said David Jones< no role > a Carpenter on
the Eleventh day of November in the Year aforesaid being at Work upon
the New built House of William Hammond< no role > situate at Knightsbridge in
the Parish aforesaid within the Liberty and County aforesaid, and then
and there coming down a Ladder on the inside of the said House, and
having his Bag and Tools upon his Shoulder, It so happened that the
said David Jones< no role > did then and there Accidentally Casually and by
Misfortune fall down off and from the said Ladder, at the height of
one Story, into the Cellar, and thereby did then and there receive one
mortal Wound and Fracture in and upon the back part of his Head,
of which said mortal Wound and Fracture he the said David Jones< no role >
then and there died. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath
aforesaid, do say, that the said David Jones< no role > , in Manner and by the
Means aforesaid, Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune, came
to his Death, and not otherwise. In Witness whereof as
well the said Coroner, as the said Thomas Lyne< no role > Foreman of the
said Jurors, on the behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in
their presence have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals,
the Day Year and Place first above written
