Informations taken this Thirtieth day of
July 1771 at the Parish of St. Margaret within the
Liberty of Westmr . in the County of Middlesex upon
an Inquisition touching the death of Richard Boughen< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty and County

John Innocent< no role > of Chapel Street Westmr. Currier on his
Oath saith that he has known Richard Boughen< no role > the Deced above
fourteen Years andlivesWeeks next door to the House in which Deced
lived in Tormenter's Hill in the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr .
Says that he has not seen the Deced for three Mornings last
past as he used to do, Says that Mrs. Jones one of the Lodger
in Deced's House informed Dept. this Morning that the Deced
had not been seen since Sunday last, that his Window Shutton
had not since been opened, and that she had looked thro' a Crass
in the Wainscot of Deced's Room, and had seen the Deced's
Kncas bending on a Chair in Deced's Room, and suspected
that he had hanged himself, Says that he went with Richard
Goss
< no role > another Currier to Deced's Room door, on the Ground Floor
when they found the Door Locked, which was forced open
by Mr. Goss, and on their going into Deced's Room, they
saw him Hanging by a small Cord which was fixed to an
large Nail drove into the Wall near the Fire place, and fortune
around the Deced's Neck, Says that the Deced was dead
and Cold and appeared to have been Hanging some time
Says that Mr. Goss cut the Cord by which Deced hung and
Dept. helped to laig him on the Ground.

Barbara< no role > late the Wife of Richard Boughen< no role > the Deced
on her Oath saith That she has been Married to the Deced
about five and twenty Years, that the Deced was very often
in Liquor, that he then need her very ill, and not well
when Sober, Says that about a year ago Deced went
from home to the Thames side near Westmr. Bridge, that
she followed him there, and believes that he intended to
drown himself. but she then got a Man to bring him
away, Says that last Sunday was sev'right she went
into her Room and found the Deced there with a Razor
in his Hand and Shirt Collar open and believes that he
then intended to cut his Throat, and believes that she Deced
