Informations taken this Fourteenth
day of May 1771 at the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square withan the Liberty of Westmr
in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of John Vandenbosseh< no role > lying dead
in the said Parish Liberty and County.

Joseph Patrons< no role > Servant to Mr. De Mello, the
Cortnonese Ambassador in South Audley Street in
the Parish of St. George Hanover Square , in the Capacity
of Footman on his Oath saith, That on Sunday last
about half hour after Eight o' Clock in the Evening
this Dept. being in his Master Kitchin when John
Vandenbosseh
< no role > the Deced, who was Porter to the said
ambassador came into the Kitchin, much in Liqnor
to light [..] Candle in order to be to light the Lamp
upon the Stair Case Says that he thes Dept. observing
that the Deced was in Liquor Fered to go and
light the Lamps for Him but Dead said that he
would go himself, and according went up Stairs
but Dept. Stred [..] in the Kitchin, Lays that in about
four or five Minutes Dept. heard one of the Lamps
upon Stain the Stair case leading to the first Story break
in pieces, upon which Dept. wan up, and at the
bottom of the Stairs saw the Deced lying upon
his beck with his legs upon the Stairs, and bleading
very much form a wound on the back part of his
Head, That his Right Leg was broke, that he was
Speechless and unable to move, Says that the
Deced was afterwards carried into the Laundry
that he Languished until about a Quarter [..]
before Eleven o'Clock Yesterday (May 13.) and then
died and Dept. believes that the hurt the Deced
reced by the fall upon the Staircase over the Barristers was the Cause
of his Death as the Deced was not afterwards able
to speek and believes that his fall was Accidental
there being no person in the House at that time but the
Deced, Mrs. Culmon wherehouse [..] hapen [..] & this Dept. Joseph Patron< no role >
