Informations taken this Fifteenth day of
April 1771 at the Parish of St. Margaret within
the City & Liberty of Westmr . in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the Death of Hannah
Moors

John East< no role > of Vine Street in the Parish of St. Mary Lambeth
Waterman on his Oath Saith That he was Rowing in his [..]
upon the River Thames towards White hall Stairs this day a little
before Twelve o'Clock at Noon, when he saw one Skinner another
Waterman endeavouring to get something out of the Mud at
White Hall Stairs about low Water Mark Says that he rowed to
Skinner and soon saw the Deced's black Silk Handkerchief
about her neck, as she lay in the Thames with her face downwds.
Says that said Skinner and this Dept. sowed the Deced in the
Water up to Westmr. Bridge and Pulled her ashore there
in the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr . Says that the Deced was
dead and appeared to have been some time Drowned.

Richard Moors< no role > Butler to the Earl of Waldegrave in Whitehall
and Husband to the Deced, on his Oath saith That the Deced has
been outof order for about three Weeks before she left Dept.
complaining of a violent Head Ache and was Feverish
and for the two or three last days Melancholy and low Spirited,
and spoke very little Says that Deced told Dept. on the 15th.
day of March at her Lodging that she had done foolishly, but did
not mention in what, Says that between Six & Seven o'Clock
that Evening Dept. went from his Master's House, with his Child
to Deced lodging in Charles Street when she told him that she
was better, but Dept. observed her looks to be different from
what they need to be, Says that he read the Newspaper to her
and afterwards laid his Head upon the Table and dropt of sleep
the Deced being then in the Room Says that he does not think
he Slept half an hour, and when and when he awoke about Eight o'Clock that Evening he could not see
the Deced in the Room, That he soon after looked for the Deced
in the Yard, and not finding her there, Dept. Suspected
she had made away with herself and after having made some
Enquiry of her Relations & acquainted her Search'd about the Canal in [..]
Park and at Westmr. Bridge but did not have of the [..]
