in the County of Middlesex }

Information taken this Second day of May 1770
at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square within
the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Middlesex upon
an Inquisition touching the Death of John Robinson< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty & County.

William Thompson< no role > Parkkeeper and Deer keeper, at the
Gate on the top of Constitution Hill in the Green Park on
his Oath saith, That he was going along, between five and
Six o' Clock yesterday Morning by the side of a Pond on
Reservoir [..] at the upper end of the Green Park near the Gate
leading into Piccadilly (called Lord Batlis Gate ) Says that
he saw the Body of the Deced floating upon the water
in the Reservoir with the face downwards about six
Yards from the Shore, Says that he could not then reach
the Body, but went home for a Pole with a Hook to it,
and soon returned with a Hook, and found Thomas
Hemmel
< no role > , who turns on the Water there, being the Deced
Says that said Hemmel with the Hook pulled the Deced
to the Shore, and with Depts. Assistance laid the Deced on
the Bank by the side of the Reservoir, Says that one of
the Deced's Breeches Pockets was turned inside out
but they observed no Marks of violence upon the Deced
who did not appear to have been long drowned, Says
that they Searched the Deced's Pockets but found no
Money on things of Value therein, Says that he left
the Body by the side of the Reservoir, in the Parish of
St Martin in the Fields , Says that three Women were
walking on the opposite side of the Reservoir when Dept.
found the Deced, and that one of them picked up [..] a
[..] at out of the Water.
