An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of Saint James
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Twenty third day of March in the Tenth Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
John Roberts< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of James Butler< no role > ,
Nicholas Philipson< no role > , John Holden< no role > , John Jarvis< no role > , John Arnold< no role > , James Mc. Evoy< no role > , William
Mumley
< no role > , William Bourdillon< no role > , Peter Moor< no role > , James Howell< no role > , Thomas Bean< no role > , Peter
Devise
< no role > and Samuel Crowder< no role > , good and Lawfull Men of the said Liberty duly
chosen, who being then and there duty Sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said John Roberts< no role > came to
his Death, do upon their Oath say That the said John Roberts< no role > (Suspected to
have been Poisoned) on the Twentieth day of march in the Year
aforesaid, in his Lodging room in the Dwelling House of Martha
Smith
< no role > , Situate in Badmay,s Mews at the Parish aforesaid within
the Liberty and County aforesaid, died suddenly by the Visitation of
god in a natural Way. In Witness whereof as well the said
Coroner, as the said James Butler< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors, on
the behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence,
have to this Inquisition set their Hands, and Seals, the Day Year
and Place first above written
