Sister and over the tops of the Houses made her
Escape, Says that Mrs. Martin the Elder went to bed
last Night in the Fore Farret before this Dept. and
that she then asked Dept. if she did not smell a Fire
to which she Answered that there smell the same
smell which she often had before, but did not think
it to be the Smell of Fire. Says that when she was
first Alarmed last Night she saw Mrs. Martin at the
top of the Stairs put her Stays and Bed gown around
her, and followed Lucy Quick< no role > (another Apprentice)
down Stairs, and that she did not see Mrs. Martin
afterwards alive. And this Dept. says that Mary
Martin
< no role > the Younger, at Eleven o' Clock last Night
event to her Mother's Garret door and asked her if
she knew where Captain Roach's Newspaper was
to which she Answered that she did not. Says
that she was informed that the Bodies of Mrs. Martin
and her Daughter,s and Frances Salmon< no role > 's were found
this day in the Ruins of Mrs. Band's House in Queen
Street which was burnt down, and that she saw
their Bodies this Evening in two Cofins lying in the
Bone House belonging to said Parish of St Ann , and
Says that she does believes that Mrs. Band's House Accidentally
took Fire.

Catharina Band< no role > of Queen Street Mantua maker on
her oath saith, That she went up last Night about half
an hour after Eleven o'Clock to Mrs. Salmon who was in Bed
in her Lodging Room on the Second Floor, to ask her it
any thing was wanted, and on her returned called to
Mrs. C [..] n on the First Floor who desired Dept. to send up
Polly with the warming Pan to warm her Bad, which she
soon did, and on the Child staying there some time Dept.
went to the foot of the Stirs to call her, and then head
Mrs. Roach call Dept. and screamed out, upon which Dept. went
up and same the Middle Room on the First Floor on Fire, and
Burning with great Rapidity.

David Roach< no role > Esqr . on his Oath saith That he came
home last Night about Ten o' Clock to his Lodgings on
the First Floor in mrs. Band's House in Queen Street
St. Anns , Says that after Supper he enquired for his
Newpapers and sent Mary martin< no role > the [..] Younger
to look for it into the middles Room, in which was a
Bed, Says that she returned in to the During Room
in four or five Minutes, saying that she could not find
the Paper, Says that in less then a Minute Dept. smell
a Fire, and said Mary Martin< no role > immediately opened
the Middle room Door, and Dept. then saw the Curtains
of the Bed there and the Room on Fire, Says that
the Fire burut with great Rapidity, which soon
burut down the House, and the Dept. with Difficulty
saved himself.
