deced got quit of him and went under water, that upon
Recovering himself against he laid hold of the deced by the
Hair, but was soon under Water again and his Breath near
Stopped and in that Situation lost his hold of the Deced
says he did his utmost to same time but could not, says
the Deced could not Swim

James Kate< no role > of Pimlico Carpenter says that he was Bathney
in the Water with Mr. Carter and the Deced, that he got out
of his Depth and that the Deponent say Mr. Carter go and
do his utmost endeavour to save him; but could not, that
this Deponent could not Swim himself and therefore could
not venture to save him
