Informations taken this Fourth day of
July 1768 at the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr .
touching the Death of Joseph Miller< no role > lying dead
in the said Parish

Andrew Henderson< no role > an Infant of the Age of Fourteen
Years or thereabouts, being in the Blue Coat School Westmr.
on his Oath saith, That he was with Joseph Miller< no role > the Deced
(who belonged to the same School) and other Boys on Friday
last (July 1st.) in the Afternoon at Parliament Stairs Says that the Deced was
walking upon a Lighter loaden with Seals and floating
at Parliament Stairs in the Parish of St. John the Evangelist
Westmr. in order to see WilliamThomasTowers< no role > the other Boy
jump of another Barge into the River Thames , Says
that the Deced list his Foot against an Iron in the
side of the Lighter and fell with his forehead against
the side of the Lighter, and from thence into the River
Thames , Says that the Deced could not Swim (as Dept.
believes) and was soon after sucked under a Barge
and was Drowned, And this Dept. says that there was
no Person in the Lighter with the Deced, or near him
at the time that he fell into the River Thames .
