chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said

h is Death, do upon their Oath say , That the said

on the First day of
July in the Year aforesaid being in a certain Lighter loaden with Coals, and
floating on the River Thomas to Wit, at Parliament Stairs, in the Parish of St.
John the Evangelist
within the City Liberty and County aforesaid, and
then and there walking hastily along the Side of the said Lighter, it so
happened that the said

then and there struck his foot against
an Iron fixed in the Said Lighter, and by means thereof fell out of the said
Lighter into the River Thames
, and in the Waters thereof was then and there
Suffocated and Drowned of which said Suffocation and Drowning he the

Oath aforesaid do say, that the said

Accidentally Casually and by
Misfortune in manner and by the Means aforesaid came to his Death and not
