Informations taken this Twenty eighth day of
June 1768 at the Parish of St. Clement Danes within
the Liberty of Westmr . in the County of Middlesex on
an Inquisition touching the Death of Hannah Bignell< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty and County

Henry Holbrook< no role > at the Sign of the Black Lion in Wigch
Street in the Parish of St. Clement Danes Victualler on his
Oath saith that Hannah Bignell< no role > the Deced hath lived
servant with this Dept. ever since the 25th. day of April last,
says that yesterday between five and six o'Clock in the
Afternoon Mary Cole< no role > and Mary Weldon< no role > (two Lodgers in
Depts. House) come to Dept, who was in his Taproom, saying
that they had seen a Cap within his Vault in the Back yard
and a Cord over the Door, upon which Dept. went with them to
the Vault, and saw a Cord over the Door and through a Hole
which was in the Door, Says that he pushed the Door a
little way open and went in, When he found the Deced
hanging by the Cord which was around the Deced's Neck
but Dept. did not observe the Cord to be tied, Says that he
lifted up the Deced and the Cord giving was the Deced
fell down on the Floor of the Vault or Necessary, Says that
the Deced appeared to be Dead but not Cold, Says, that
Mr. Patch a Surgeon was fetched who bled the Deced in
the Arm, and she bled about two Spoon fulls, but Mr. Patch
said that she was dead, and Dept. believes that Deced
hanged herself, Says that the Deced was a good Servant
but that she has appeared for some days past to be
Stupid and dull of Apprehension at times.
