Samuel Jones< no role > House Surgeon at the Westmr.
Hospital in the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr . on his
Oath saith, That on the Eighth day of May last Martha
Slade
< no role > the Deced was brought to said Hospital in the
Evening, her left Leg being Fractured, Says that her
Leg was set by Mr. Humphreys and all proper care
taken of her in said Hospital, but that the Deced died
there yesterday in the Afternoon, and Says that the
Fracture was the cause of her Death.

Hannah Slade< no role > a Lodger with Mrs. Chadwick at the House
of Mr. Paget in Wild Street on her Oath saith, that on the
Eighth day of May last Dept. was crossing the Road from
the Asylum to the Bun House in the Parish of St. Mary
Lambeth with Mrs. Chadwick and the Deced Dept. being
between them, Says that the Deced came last across
and fell down in the Road, Says that a Post Chaise drawn
by four Horses was at that instant coming along the
Road, and that the fore Horses were very near the Deced
when she fell down and that Deced was immediately
under the Horses, but Dept. did not see any of the Horses
hurt her until the Horses stopt, when the off Horse
next the Chaise kicked back and struck the Deced upon
her Leg, Says that the Deced was taken up and carried
to the Kings Arms Yard , where the Deced said that
her Leg was broke and that she could not stand. Says
that she Chaise was Empty but Dept. does not know who
it belonged to.
