Informations taken this 11th. day of April 1767
at the Parish of St. James within the Liberty of
Westmr. in the County of Middlesex on an Inquisition
touching the Death of George Baggott lying dead in
the said Parish Liberty and County.

John Corbett< no role > Carpenter on his Oath saith, That he has
been a Lodger at the Sign of the Bull's Head in Carnaby
Street in the Parish of St. James Westmr. about four Years
last past, which House George Baggott the Deced has kept
about four months, Says, that about a Quarter before
one o'Clock this Morning this Dept. being in Bed, when
a Maid Servant to the Deced came to this Deponent's
Room Door, and desired this Dept. to come down to look
for the Deced, who was Missing, Says that he went down
with the Maid Servant and found all the Doors of the
House, Locked & Bolted, and the Windows fastened, Says
that he Searched the Yard Kitchen and Parlour and
afterwards, by the Direction of Mrs. Baggott forced open
the Tap room door and Searched there & in the Cellar, without
effect, but at last found the Deced in a Water Tub
in the Yard, his Head being towards the bottom of the
Tub, which was about half full of Water, Says that he
acquainted Mrs. Baggott therewith and afterwardscalled
called in the Watchman, who saw the Deced, Says that
he afterwards went to the Parish Watch house and took
the Lanthorn Bearer to the Deced, who assisted the Watchmen
and this Dept. to get the Deced out of the Tub, Says that
the Deced was Drowned and Cold, and appeared to have
been Dead some time; Says that he usually saw the
Deced in the Evening, who was very Sober & Diligent
in his Business, and Dept. never observed him to be
any way Disordered in his Senses.
