George Frederick Meden< no role > of Strutton Ground in the Parish
of St. Margaret Westmr . Gentlemen on his Ooth saith, That about
a Month ago this Dept. was going along Queen street in the
Parish of St. Margaret Westmr . with Mr. Steele, about seven
o'Clock in the Evening, Says that a Man without any Coat
Waistcoat or Shirt on, came running up said Street, and
that some men run up the Street after him crying out stop
him stop him says that he heard the sound of two Stokes, which
he believes the Man without his Cloaths reced on his Head, as he
thereupon fell down in the Street, but Dept did not see the Strokes
given says that the Man lay down in the Street some time
and groaned very much but did not speak, says that upon
Enquiring who the Man was that lay down, he was told by some
Persons there that he had a Knife in his Hand with which he
had attempted to kill people in the House, upon which Dept,
wentaway.

John Bolter< no role > Laborer lodging with Mr. Hyett at Knightsbridge
in the parish of St. George Hanover Square on his Oath saith
that on the Eleventh day of November last this Dept. was at
a Publick House being the sign of the Bell in John Street in the
Parish of St. Margaret Westmr. in the Tap room Richard Aris< no role >
Elizabeth Peace otherwise Hawley, Rinah Bell, and Several
others being in the same Room, says that Richard Aris
Quarrelled with Dept. and struck this Dept on the face three
times, says that he did not strike said Aris but agreed
to fight said Aris for a Guinea the next day says that
soon after Elizabeth Pearce< no role > otherwise Hawley< no role > came in
with Mr. Church the Constable and Rinah Bell< no role > , and one
of the women told the Constable that was his prisoner
Pointing to Mr. Aris, upon which the Constable took hole
of said Richard Aris< no role > Saying you are my Prisoner, upon
which Richard Aris< no role > took a Clasp Knife out of his Coat Pocket
says that the Constable then Charged this Dept to assist in the
Kings Name, upon which this Dept. put hios Arm behind
the said Mr. Aris back and took hole of said Aris right
hand, wherein the Knife was, says that said Aris draw the

the Knife which was open through this Depts. Hand
and Wounded one of his Fingers, says that he afterwards
kept hold of the Deced to prevent his doing mischief with
the Knife, and that in the Struggle the Deced fell down says that the
Constable struck the Deced once with a Stack, with a Mattaf [..]
head, upon his the Deced;s head while he was on the Ground
Says that after the Deced was got up Mr. Church Struck
his again more than once upon the Head with the same
stick by which the stick was broke Upon which the Deced went out into the Street
and was followed by the Constable and this Dept. says that
the Deced at the Door took off this Coat waistcoat and
Shirt, and pushed this Dept and several others there
and afterwards the Dedram away along John Street
and in Queen Street this Dept. [..] him, and found
him on the Ground, says that in pursuing, this Dept was
not above six or seven Yards behind the deced, and that
he did not see any Person stricke the Deced in Queen
Street , which he thinks he must have done had the
Deced been stuck there, says that the Deced grooned
very much as he lay down but did not speak, says that
the Constable, this Dept with some others took the Deced
to Mr. Justice Miller's in the Great Sanctuary , and afterwards
to Mr. Pearson, another Justice, say that they were then
adviced be Mr. Freeman to carry the Decd, who then appeared to be very
bad and groaned much, to a Doctor, and that the Deced
was helped along Tothill Street, where Dept. left Deced
with the Constable and several other Persons. Says that
he saw Deced in the Hospital or Westmr. Infirmary the
next day, when daced said that he had two or three Cuts
upon his Head and Aknowledged his being very much
in Liguor the Night before, and said that he did not
remember drawing a Knife the Night before at the Ball
