Informations taken this Tenth day of Novr.
1766 at the Parish of St. George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of
Middlesex on an Inquisition touching the Death
of William Rivers< no role > lying Dead in the said Parish
Liberty and County.

Elizabeth Rivers< no role > the widow of William Rivers< no role > the Deced
on her Oath Saith, that the Deced was a Labourer and.
worked at the new built House belonging to the Earl of Bute
and the Earl of Shelburn near Berkley Square in the Parish
of St. George Hanover Square , Says that the Deced had the [..]
of said Building at Night, and Lodged in a little Room over
a Coach house in the Yard belonging to said House, Says that
the Deced and this Dept. together with Mr & Mrs. Bromley and
Mrs. King about Ten o'Clock on Saturday Night last the Eighth
of Novr went to the Red Lyon in Charges Street, and Supped,
and afterwards stayed there until twelve o'Clock and then
they all went towards home, Says that upon the Deced's getting in
the Yard, he said that he heard somebody in the Building
upon which he went into the Building without any Candle
or other Light, and Dept. went into her Room over the Coach house
Says that in about a quarter of an hour Dept. being look
out of her Window, heard a sound in the Houselikeas if
somebody had fallen down, and in about five Minutes after
heard some Person groan, Says that she immediately [..]
Mr. & Mrs. King, who went with Dept, into the House, and at
the Bottom of the Stair Case (on the Ground) found the Dead
lying with his face downwards bleeding at his Mouth nose
and Ears, and much Blood on the Ground Says that the Deced
was not able to move nor to give any Accot. how he reced
the hurt, Says that she immediately run for a Watchman
who came there, and assisted this Dept. and Mr. & Mrs. King
to carry the Deced up Stairs and put him into Bed, Says that
he died about half an hour after four o'Clock on Sunday Morning
the Ninth Instant, and Dept. believes that his Death was came
by the hurt he reced by the fall abovementioned Says that
