Informations taken this Sixth day of
October 1766 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the City and Liberty of Westmr. in the
County of Middlesex on an Inquisition touching
the Death of John Chapman< no role > lying dead in the
said Parish City Liberty and County.

John Dick< no role > of Hungerford Market in the parish of St.
Martin in the Fields Baker on his Oath Saith, that on the
Twentieth day of Septr. last John Chapman< no role > the Deced
was bringing a sack of Wheat Flour upon his Shoulder
down the Deced's Stairs into his Bakehouse and coming
backwards, Says that the Deced was within two steps of
the bottom when he stept on one side off the Stair
and fell backwards unto and upon the Ground floor,
Says that for lay upon the Ground quite helpless, and said that he
was hart all over, but particularly complained of
his Neck. Says that the Deced was blooded by an
Apothecary , and that the Deced was soon after
put into a Chair and carried to the Westminster
Hospital .
