Informations taken this Eleventh day
of September 1766 at the Parish of St. James
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County
of Middlesex on an Inquisition touching
the Death of Ann< no role > the Wife of Thomas Dunn< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty and
County.

Catherine Field< no role > of Painter's Court in the Parish of St. James
Westmr. Widow on her Oath saith that Thomas Dunn< no role > a Chairman
and Ann Dunn< no role > his Wife (the Deced) have lodged with this Dept.
about three Years last Past, upon the Second Floor, Says that in
that time Mr. Dunn and the Deced have been several times
drunk, that they then usually Quarrelled, and sometimes
fought but Depont. never observed that the Deced reced
andy hurt by such fighting, Says that about three or four
months ago she heard a Noise in Deced's Room one Night
and Deced said, "Ill cry out Murder if you do not leave off
beating me" says that very soon after the Noise ceased
and Depont. has not heard any Quarrel between them since
Says that on Tuesday Evening the Second Instant, about
Seven o'Clock in the Evening, the Deced came into Depts.
House twice with two several Bundles of Linnen
which she was to wash, Says that she saw the Deced on Wednesday Morning
go to the Necessary and asked Deced how she was
to which she answered that she was not well, Says that
she saw the Deced every day since, (as Dept. thinks) that
the Deced told Dept. that her Husband had struck her
and complained of a pain in her side & [..] thought
that the Blow had occasioned that pain, Says that the Deced grew
worse was very Traverish and between Nine and Ten o'Clock on Tuesday last
was seized with Conviction Fits, and had several of them
and died about One o' Clock that day being the Ninth
of this Instant.
