Informations taken this Twenty fourth day of
July 1766 at the Parish of St. Ann within the
Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Middlesex on an
Inquisition taken on View of the Body of Harbottle
Luckyn
< no role > Esqr . lying Dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

James Catling< no role > Servant to Harbottle Luckyn Esqr . the Deced
of Leicester Fields in the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields within
the Liberty of Westmr. in the Capacity of Footman , on his Oath saith, That
he has lived with Deced three and Twenty Years and upwards,
Says that the Deced Dined at home yesterday, and that Mr.
Henry Grimston< no role > the Deced's Brother and Mr. Bromley Dined
with him, Says that they all Staid at Deced's House until
about Six o'Clock the same Afternoon and then walked out
together, Says that the Deced came home last Night a little
before Ten o'Clock, and called for a Glass of Brandy and
water, which Dept. gave him and Deced drank it, Says
that Deced sat in the Dining Room alone until the Clock
had struck Twelve and then rang his Bell, upon which
Deponent took up the Deced's Slippers, Morning Gown and
Waistcoat, and Deced then went into his Bedchamber on
the Second Floor, Says that the Deced went to Bed and
in a Law voice wished this Dept. a good Night, and Dept.
broughttook the Candle down Stairs, Says that he this Dept.
went into Deced's Bed chamber as usual about Nine
o'Clock this Morning, and after opening one of the Window
Dept. saw Deced hanging by a Cord which was fixed over
the Wooden Red at the feet of the Bed, and around the Deced's
Neck, upon which Dept. with his Knife out the Cord by
which the Deced was Hanging, and laid him on the Bed,
Says that Deced was their Dead and Cold, and Dept believes
that he had been Dead some hours. and Dept believes that
he hanged himself, Says that the Deced when alone in
frequently to be talking, and that he was at times very low
Spirited, and particularly of late, and Deponent believes
