Information taken this Seventeenth day of
March 1766 at the Parish of St. James within
the Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex
on an Inquisition touching the Death of Catherine
Lamb
< no role > lying Dead in the said Parish Liberty and
County.

Robert Halifax< no role > of St. James's Street Apothecary on his
Oath saith that he has attended Catherine Lamb< no role > the Deced
at different times between two and three Years last past,
that She had Complaints in her Head and Stomack, during
great part of that time, Says that the latter End of last Summon
three of the Deced's Children died of the Small pox, That the
Deced was then in an ill State of Health, That the Deced
has been Melancholy and low Spiretted since that time and
often complained to Deponent of an Uneasmiss of Mind.
and Dept. believes that the Deced was at times disordered
in her Senses.

Robt Hallifax

William Williams< no role > of Leicester Street Chairman on his Oath
saith, That last Night about ten o'Clock Deponents Wife came
home with the Deced's Son, a Boy, when Dep [..] said Wife desired
him to go with the Boy to Deced's Lodging in a passage leading to Naylors Yard out of
Silver Street, Says that he went there an found the Deced's room
Door locked, Says that he forced open the Door with a Hatchett
in the presence of Mrs. Gorse, Says that he then sow the Deced
hanging near a Closet in the Deced's Room, but Dept. did not go
to Deced nor touch her, but believes that she was Dead,
Says that he Acquainted the Deced's Mother and Sister who
lodged in the same House, and were very ill, Says that the
Deced's Mother or Sister acquainted this Dept. that the Key of
Deced's room Door usually hanged up on a Nail on the inside
of the Room, near the Door, Says that he found the Key there and
Locked the Door, and sent the Key to Deced's Mother by Mrs. Gorce
and Dept went home.
