An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord
the King at the Parish of Saint Jameswithin the
Liberty of Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter Westminster in the
County of Middlesex the Twenty fourth day of December in the Sixth Year of the Reign
of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and
Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman
Coroner of our Said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty on view of the Body of
Charles Till< no role > , then and there lying Dead, upon the Oath of Peter Macklaren< no role > , Cornelius Sexton< no role >

good and lawfull Men of the said Liberty duly chosen, who being then and there duly
Sworn and charged to inquire for our Said Lord the King when, how and by what
means the said Charles TillCame to his Death do upon their Oath say
That on the Twenty third day of December in the Year aforesaid, the said Charles Till a
Bricklayer being at Work upon a Chimney belonging to the Dwelling House of
Carbonell Wine Merchant Situate [..] being in Chapel Alley in the Parish aforesaid within the
Liberty and County aforesaid, and then and there standing upon a Scaffold fixed upon the Roof
of the said House, It so happened that Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune the said Charles Till
did then and there fall off and from the said Scaffold unto the Ground in the said Alley, by Means
whereof the said Charles Till did then and there Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune receive
one Mortal Fracture in and upon the back Part of his Head, of which and mortal Fracture he
the said Charles Till then and there instantly died. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their
Oath aforesaid, do say, that the said Charles Till, Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune
in Manner and by Means aforesaid, came to his Death, and not otherwise, In Witness
whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said Peter Macklaren Foreman of the said Jurors, on
the behalf of himself and the rest of his said Fellows, in their Presence, have to this
Inquisition set their Hands and Seals, the Day Year and Place first above written
