Informations taken this Second day of
December 1765 at the Parish of St. James within
the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Middlesex
on an Inquisition taken on View of the Body of
Mary Buck< no role > lying Dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County

John Richie< no role > of Warden Street in the Parish of St. James
Gentleman on his Oath saith, that on Saturday Morning last
about a Quarter before Eleven oClock Dept. was going up
uptothe Brewhouse Yard belonging to Mr. Thomas Starkey< no role >
and Mr. John Starkey< no role > situate in Nave's Acre in the said
Parish of St. James , Says that the Deced was going up
the Brewhouse Yard before the Dept. Says that the Deced
Walked on the left hand of the Yard until she got to the
bottom of the Stairs of Mr. Starkey's House Says that there
are strong Planks put up about three Feet from the Ground in
order to preserve the Brick Work, Says that a Dray stood
in the said Yard loaded with Beer and drawn by three
Horses Says that a Drayman belonging to Mr. Starkey
was standing on the near side of theshaftBill Horse with
the leader in his hand, when the Horses moved forwards
upon which Dept. called out to Drayman to stop, for
that there was a Woman on the other side of the Horses
that must be killed if he came forward Says that the
Drayman stopped the Horses immediately, but that the
fore Plank of the Dray struck against a Bag with Dept.
had upon her Back which turned Deced round, and
The Drayman checking the Thill Horse, the Deced was
Jambed between the off Wheel of the Dray (as Dept. thinks) and an
upright Post near the foot of the Stairs of Mr. Starkey's
House, Says that Deced cried out three times but
could not Speak, and died in about two Minutes
Says that a Surgeon was fetched immediately who
Examined the Deced, and said: that the Right Arm
