to Wit

An Inquisition Indented taken for Our Sovereign Lord
the King at the Parish of St. Margaret in the City of Westmr. within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter
of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter Westminster in the County of Middlesex , the Fourteenth
Day of Augustin the Fifth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the
Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland and Ring Defender of the faith
and so forth before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for
the said City and Liberty on View of the Body of Ralph Hutchinson< no role > then and there lying Dead
upon the Oath of William Nayer< no role > , Thomas Carder< no role > , Robert Gildon< no role > , James Taylor< no role > ,
Richard Robinson< no role > , John Lane< no role > , John Edwards< no role > , Joseph Kimbally< no role > , Matthew Dyer< no role > ,
John Perry< no role > William Mumby< no role > , & William Llewellin< no role > , good and lawfull Men of the said Liberty duly
chosen who being then and there duly Sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King
when, how, and by what Means the said Ralph Hutchinson< no role > came to his Death do upon
their Oath say, That on the Twelfth day of August in the Year aforesaid a certain Black Man, to
the Jurors aforesaid unknown, was Riding hastily upon a Black Horse or Mare, in the Publick Road
or Kings Highway leading towards Westminster Bridge , in the Parish of St. Mary Lambeth, in the County
of Surry; And that the said Ralph Hutchinson< no role > being then on foot in the said Road or High way, It so
happened that the said Black Horse or Mare, on which the said Black Man was riding, did then and
there Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune can against and force the said Ralph Hutchinson< no role >
down to the Ground, and that the said Black Horse or Mare did then and there fall down upon the said Ralph
Hutchinson
< no role > , then lying on the Ground as aforesaid, by Reason whereof he the said Ralph Hutchinson< no role >
then and there received divers mortal Fractures in and upon the Collar Bone and Right Arm of him
the said Ralph Hutchinson< no role > , and also divers mortal Bruises in his Body, of which said mortal
Fractures and mortal Bruises he the said Ralph Hutchinson< no role > languished about four hours at the Westminster
Hospital situate in the said Parish of St. Margaret within the City Liberty and County aforesaid, and
thereof on the same Day and Year then and there did Dee. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid, do say,
that the said Ralph Hutchinson< no role > in Manner and by the Means aforesaid, Accidentally, Casually, and by
Misfortune came to his Death, and not otherwise, And that the said Black Horse or Mare, moved to the
Death of the said Ralph Hutchinson< no role > , and is the Property of a Person or Persons to the Jurors aforesaid
unknown. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said William Nayer Foreman of the
said Jurors, on the behalf of himself and the rest of his said Fellows, in their presence, have to this
Inquisition set their Hands and Seals, the Day Year and Place first above written
