Informations taken this 18th. day of Septr.
1764 at the Parish St. Poul Covent Gardon
within the Liberty of Westmr in the County
of Middlesex on an Inquisition on View of
the Body of John Field< no role > lying Dead in the said
Parish Liberty [..] County

Edward Well< no role > Shopman to William Clements< no role > Shoemaker in
the Strand in the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields on his
Oath saith, That yesterday between five and six O Clock in the
Afternoon Deponent was going along Maiden Lane, says
that another Man who was going along at the same time
called out to Deponent, Lookthere, there, look there the
Man is killed, Deponent upon that saw the Deced lye
upon the Ground, upon his rightside, says that he went
up to Deced, who was Speechless, Says that he was
taken up, and Deponent observed a Wound on the
rightside of Deced's head from which some Blood issued, Says
that Mr. Wray an Apothecary in Maidenlane came there
and bled the Deced in the [..] who bled about two Cupfull, but Deced
could not Speak and soon after died, Says that he beleives
the Deced's Death was occasioned by a fall from the Seaffold
erected against a House now rebuilding in Maiden
Lane. Says that he saw no Person upon the Seaffold When
Deponent first same up to Deced. or when the Man
first called to Deponent.
