to Wit.

An Inquisition Indented taken for Our Sovereign Lord the King
at the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate
Church of St. Peter Westminster in the County of Middlesex , the twenty seventh day of September in the third
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain France
and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > Gentleman Coroner
of our said Lord the King, for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of William Rawlins< no role >

good and lawfull Men of the said Liberty duly chosen, who being then and there duly Sworn and
charged to inquire for our said Lord the King, when, how and by what means the said William
Rawlins
< no role > came to his Death, do upon their Oath say, That on the Twenty sixth day of September
in the Year aforesaid, the said William Rawlins< no role > a Waterman, being at a certain Stairs called Hungerford
Stairs in the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields within the Liberty and County aforesaid, and seeing a
Barge laden with Flour and Bricks on the River Thamas coming in there to unload, and a small
Boat or Wherry chained, lying in the Way thro' which the said Barge was to pass, and in Danger
the said William Rawlins< no role > endeavoured to remove the said Boat or Wherry, and in crossing a Lighter
lying there, laden with Coals, and fastened at the Head and Stern, It so happened that the foot of the said
William Rawlins< no role > slipt, and that the said William Rawlins< no role > then and there Accidentally Casually and by
Misfortune fell out of the said Lighter into the River Thamas, and in the Waters thereof was then and there
Suffocated and Drowned, of which said Suffocation and Drowning he the said William Rawlins< no role > then and there
Died. And so the Jurors aforesaid, upon their Oath aforesaid, do say, that the said William Rawlins< no role > in Manner
and by the Means aforesaid, Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune came to his Death, and not
otherwise. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said William Flack< no role > This name instance is in set 253. ,
Foreman of the said Jurors, on the behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence,
have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals, the Day Year and Place first abovewritten.
