Informations taken the 20th
December 1762 at the Parish
of Saint George Hanover Square
within the said Liberty upon an
Inquisition on View of the Body
of a Male Child there lying dead

Philip Newman< no role > belonging to St. George's Workhouse
Carpenter on his Oath Saith that on [..] Saturday
last in the Evening he [..] went in Quest of a
child being informed that one was dropt in Berkle
Square says that near a Colbers Stall on the Inside of the Rails there be discovered
a Bundle which Deponent took ap, and opened
and found a dead child therein says he carried it,
and two Cloaths, in which it had been wrapt, to
the Workhouse, and put it into a little coffin, and
on truning down the Cloths found it was a Male
child, but observed no marks of violence upon it
says the Navel String was remarkably long and
was not tyed, and that the child appeard to Dept.
to have come to Maturity.
