Informations taken this 9th. July 1762 on an
Inquisition on View of the Body of John
William Greathead
< no role > and Infant lying dead in
the parish of Saint James within the Liberty aforesaid

George Greathead< no role > of Glass house Street in the said Parish Poulterer
Father of the deced on his Oath saith that on Tuesday
last between Seven and eight o'Clock in the Evening
Deponent his Wife and the deced being in a last
drawn byone Horsea Golding Stopt at the Coach makers at
Mary bone in order for Dept. to change a Bridle
say the Dept having a Bridle of the Coach makers and to
take Deponents own in Return says that the
Coach maker took held of the Horse's Head while
Dept. took his Bridle off, and before Dept. put his
Bridle on, the Coachmaker let the Horse's Head go,
Whereupon he took fright and ran away, Depts
Wife and the deced being in the Cart. says that
at Mary bone Lane Dept. came up with the Cart &
Horse and found the Cart over turned the Horse
lying on the Ground, and his Wife with the
deced in her Arms, says She informed Dept. that
the Cart over turned and they were thrown into the
Ditile there. Says that the deced, Head was very
muddy, says they went into a House there and sent
for a Surgeon or Apothecary , who blooded the
deced and the deced was then brought Home
in a Chair says no outward Bruises appeared
that the deced never spoke from that time and
was seized with Convulsions which confirmed or
him to his Death which was on last Wednesday
Afternoon. Says he males no Deubt but the Stall
the deced reced was the Cause of his Death says
that the Gelding and Cart are Deponents property
and that the Gelding he believes to be worth about
three pounds, and the Materials of the Cart which
was broke to peace by the Accident are with two
shillings and Six pence,
