to Wit.

An Inquisition Indented taken for Our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of St. James, within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate
Church of St. Peter in Westminster in the County of Middlesex the Ninth day of July
in the Second Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great
Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role >
Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King, for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
John William Greathead< no role > and Infant then and there lying Dead, upon the Oath of John Beckett< no role > , William

< no role > and Joseph Frankland< no role > , good and lawfull Men of the said City and Liberty, duly chosen, and
who being then and there duly Sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King, when, how
and by what means the said John William Greathead came to his Death, Do upon their Oath said
That George Greathead< no role > the Father of the said John William Greathead on the sixth day of July in the Year aforesaid
at Mary bone in the County of Middlesex , was driving a certain Gelding drawing a certain Cart, in which the said George
Greathead
< no role > and his Wife, the Mother of the said John William Greathead, and the said John William Greathead, were there
riding, And that the said George Greathead< no role > afterward the same Day and Year at Mary bone aforesaid did stop and get
out of the same Cart in order to return a Bridle then on the said Gelding, which he the said George Greathead< no role > had there
borrowed of a Person unknown, And that the said Person unknown did hold the Head of the said Gelding while the said
George Greathead< no role > did pull off such Bridle, and after the said George Greathead< no role > had taken off the said Bridle from the said Gelding
the said Man unknown did quit his hold of the said Gelding, Whereupon it so happened that the said Gelding immediately
ran away with the said Cart (the said John William Greathead and his Mother being therein) and by reason thereof the [..]
Cart was then and there in a certain Lane called Mary bone Lane overturn'd and broke to pieces, and the said John William
Greathead and his said Mother were then and there casually accidentally and by misfortune, by such Overturning of the
said Cart, violently thrown and cast into a Ditch there, and the said John William Greathead by his Fall did then and there
receive divers internal Bruises of which he languished from the said sixth day of July in the Year aforesaid until the seven
day of the same Month in the same Year, Of which said Bruises the said John William Greathead on the day and Year last mentioned
at the said Parish of St. James within the Liberty and County aforesaid died. And that the said Gelding and Cart were moving to the Death of the said John
William Greathead & that the said Gelding is of the Price of eighteen shillings, & the materials of the said Cart are of the Value of one shilling & are severally the Prop [..]
of the said George Greathead< no role > . In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said John Beckett< no role > Foreman on behalf of himself and the rest of the Jurors, in the
presence, have to this Inquisition set their Hand & Seals the Day Years & Place abovementioned.
