{This Order was in part complied with January 6. 1794. Twenty Convicts instead of Forty were removed from Newgate Two of whom Escaping only 18 were actually delivered on Board the Lion Hulk at Portsmouth that day. Vide order page. 28}

Second Order Dated 17 December 1793

{The increase in the Number delivered in pursuance of this Order is to make up the Number deficient in the last so that 42 Convicts instead of 20 were sent on Board the Lion Hulk March. 13. 1794. Vide Order page 35}

Third Order Dated 7 February. 1794. Mr Shelton's Contract

{Mr Shelton was the Contractor for these Convicts and in the Sign Manual from His Majesty dated 4th. February 1794 giving him that Authority are these Words "We have pursuant to the powers vested in us by the said recited Act thought fit to give directions that the Convicts in the inclosed list should be immediately and Effectually Transported to our Territory of New South Wales ." and the Order in Council was expressive of these particular Convicts so mentioned in such List but different prisoners from those proposed to His Majesty in Council were Sent. Fourth Order dated 8. February 1794

{In obedience to which, Thomas Muir< no role > Maurice Margaret< no role > and William Skirving< no role > Convicted at Edinburgh of Sedition were taken from Newgate by William Dowson< no role > and John Nost< no role > two of His Majestys Messengers and delivered by them on board the Surprize Captain Campbell. February 9th. 1794. Vide Order page 55}

When Sheriffs apply for the Removal of Convicts, it ought to be as certained who is intended to be Removed, View the first Order for 40 on the Application of the Sheriffs
Stating their Gaol full and though 40 are desired to be removed. 20 only are sent, it is an opening for great partiality in the Removal of Convicts
