By vertue of an Order of this Court made the Eighth day of Ludgate last
past whereby it is Referred to us whose Names are subscribed and William [..]
Esqr or any two of us to Enquire into the truth of the Petition of Edward George< no role >
in the said Order mentioned and to Report our Opinion thereupon to this Court the
next Adjournment Day of this present Sessions Wee in obedience to the said Order
went to the said Goal on Wednesday the twenty Second day of the said Month and ma [..]
as diligent a Search and Enquiry into the Condition of that past thereof called the
Canon Side wherein the Petitioners is confined as wee could and found the same in
very good nay better order than could well be expected for it was Sweet and [..]
and nothing fit to be complained of Sabe only in the drinking Room Which is [..]
from the Lodging Room there was a little breach in two or three places in the [..]
occasioned by mending the flower ever head which we conceive was no damage on
inconvenience to the Petitioners however the Same hath been Since made good And [..]
Complaint about the Box money the Same appeared otterly [..] for that the Ps [..]
ownd before us that he had his Shaw of that money and acquitted the Keeper and his Ser [..]
vant of the Charge against them in that request And us to the other charge touching
the not putting up in the Goal the Clause of an Act of Parliament passed in
the Reign of King Charles the Second the Same is likewise groundless for that the
are two Tables hung up in the Goal visible to all the Prisoners one of the Goal
Fees and the other an Order of this Court for the Regulation of the Goal and
enjoyning the observation of that Clause of the said Act the same being for
that and particularly Set forth therein wherefore Wee are of Opinion the said Petition
ought to be dismissed as [..] and [..] with Submission to the Judgment
of this Court.
