The Orders and Proceedings of the last General Court were read and
approved.

The Report of the Grand Committees Proceedings since the last
General Court held the 25th. of May last was read and is as follows Vizt

To the Right Worshipfull the General Court of the
Governours of St. Thomas's Hospital .

We the Grand Committee appointed for managing the Affairs of
St. Thomas's Hospital do Report our proceedings therein since the
last General Court held the 25th. day of May last to be as followeth
Vizt.

We have Agreed with Catharine Fewtrell< no role > our present Tennant
of Three Houses in the Old Baily under Three Leases at Several
Rents amounting together to £14. P Ann to Grant her a New Lease
thereof for 21. Years from the expiration of the Present Leases which
expire at Michas 1728. at the Rent of £14. P Ann Tax free in Consideracon
of a Fine of Three hundred Pounds to be paid within Three Months
from the Sealing the Contract for the same and putting the Premisses
into good repaire.

No Gratuity to
Steward for Out-
Patients Peticons


Mr. Joseph Hulton< no role > our late Steward being Dead And We having
taken notice that sixpence had been taken by our Steward for every
Petition of the Out patients of this Hospital Have Ordered That
for the future no Steward shall take six pence or any other Gratuity
for the said Petitions Or for any notes or Certificates to be produced by
such Out Patients And that the future Steward do constantly Reside
within the Hospital at the usual Apartment Allotted for the Steward
and that he shall within six Months next after he shall be Chosen into
the said Office Quit and resign all other Business place or Imploy me [..]

of the House from
the Sisters Nurses
or Watches [..]
their Election}

We humbly recommend it to this Court as our Opinion That none of
the Officers of this Hospital or their Servants shall upon any pretence
accept of any Gratuity or present whatsover of any of the Sisters
Nurses Watches or any Person for them on their respective Admissions
into this Hospital or at any time afterwards And that no Sister Nurse or
Watcher or any Person for them do Give any such Gratuity (Except
five Shillings a peice to be given by each Sister to the Steward & Matron
for taking making out and delivering to her the Inventory as usual.
upon pain of such Givers or Receivers being expell'd the House for every
such Offence and that Coppies of such Order be signed by the Clerk and
Delivered to the several Persons concerned therein.

And also that it may be made a Standing Order of the General Court
That the Steward & Matron shall Quarterly in every year inspect and
Examine the Several Goods and furniture committed tot he Care of the
