New Gateway


Sub: Comittee Mercur: 13 o: Oct. 1708

This Comittee is of opinion that the new Gateway
should be ten fool wide Cleare next the Streata [..]
twelve fool next the Hospitall and not exceeding
two storeys in higth.

That the whole Front next the Street as well of
the New Gateway as of Mr. Bartelotts House
next adjoyning should be made good at the Hospll:
Charge and also the upright Wall of the Gateway
between the front and Reare. That the Back
front of the Gateway shall likewise be done by
the Hospitall But all the Back Wall next
the Hospitall, of Each side & also over the Gateway
shall be made at Mr. Barlelotts Charge Uniforme
to the rest of the Brick worke in the first Court
Except so much of it as shall be made use of for
a porters lodge which the Hospitall is to allow for

And that it may be propper to agree with Mr.
Bartelott for the Front House now in Mr. Vernons
possession upon the proposalls menconed on the
other side.

And in Regard the said Vernon is about to lett
his House it is the Opinion of this Comittee that
the Hospll: should become Tent: to Mr. Barttelott
for the said House as it is now lett to Vernon at
£30 P Ann: for all the Remainder of the Ferme
yet to Come in the Lease from the Hospitall
