Minutes of last Grand Comittee Read & Approved

Thomas Swaine< no role > proposes as he did the Fifth of August last
Vizt: Three Hundred Pounds Fine and Sixty pounds P Ann Rent
for Combe Farme and Woods for 21: Years from Michas 1710:
and Six Guineas to the poors Box.

And being desired to withdraw Mr: Trear acquainted the
Comittee that he had received a Proposall for the sd: Farme &
Woods from Sr: William Honywood< no role > and that One Mr: Crayker
had yesterday told Mr: Trear that a Freind of his in Kent
would make a Proposall for the said Farme & Woods and that
Mr: Trear desired him if he had any proposall to Make He
would Attend at this Comittee this Day it being Intended to Lett
the same at this Comittee And likewise that He had reced an
Acct: that One Mr. Wade of Ashford desired to Treat for the same
whereupon this Comittee considering the whole Matter and having
Called for the sd: Mr: Crayker but neither He nor any for him
now attending and the sd: Swaine having made a Journey on
Purpose out of Kent , And the Lease being within less then a
Yeare of Expiring and his Proposall being the best which hath
been yet made: The sd: Swaine was Called in againe And the
Comittee Agreed to Grant him A Lease of the sd: Farme and
Woods upon the Termes above proposed and the Condicons [..]
Vizt.

That all Timber & Timber Trees shall be Excepted for the
Use of the Hospitall: That the Downes shall be Laid Downe
from plowing within the First Seaven years and not
afterwards P loughed on penalty of Three Pounds P Acre:

The Woods are not to be Felled Above One Third part
in any One Yeare and None Under Thirteen Yeares or
above Sixteen Yeares Growth Notice of Every Fall of
Imder Wood to be Given to the Governors at the Least Three
Months, to the End That the Governors, may appoint some
Pson to Take care of the Timbers and that sufficient Storers
Standills and Waves be left according to the Statutes and
the Custome of the Country Under Penalty of 40s: for
Every One of Underwood which shall be Felled within
such Notices
