22.April 1699

Mr. Layfield brought a letter from Mrs Hall our Tent. of
Sewall Tenents. in St. Thomas parish whereby She offered
£50. for a fine in money & alleadged yt. She had laid out
£15. in raising the Comon Sewers wch. She expected to be
allowed by the Hosp: & So weekons yt. £65. a Sufficient
fine & all yt. She would give by way of five for a
Lease of 25. yrs. after the present Lease, wch. the Comittee
judging to be much to little acquainted the sd. Mr. Layfeld
& desired him to tell Mrs. Hall yt. they could not accept
thereof & She seeming to be positive in giving no more they
must inquire after [..] other Chapmen

The Gors. & Surgeons informed the Coitre yt they & the
other officers of the Hosp: were Taxed by the Comissioners for
the Capilacon act & yt. they never were nor any former
officers [..] were ever taxed any wife howsoever & therefore
desired the Coitre to acqt. the Govnours of it in order to the
getting them of, & the Coitre to inquire when the Comrs. fitt
& they will go to them in order to the getting it of.

This day went a viewing of Mr. Formans ground of Hackney
held of this Hosp: & found by the certifying of Seaall Inhabitants
there yt. the trees on the side of his ground by the path to
[..] the Church felds are & do belong to him as tenr. to this Hosp:
