You must well Remember That when our
Governors held the Court at Hinton in 1763. you assur'd the [..]
Treasurer as well, as myself that you would be more Punctual
in Remitting the Quit Rents for the future not: retaind:
in your hands more than one year at a Time. How well
you have perform'd your Promise. Let the Present arrear
of £74..17S..9D Speak

I am quite Griev'd to think you should Suffer
such just Reproach & have with Difficulty prevaild with
Mr. Treasurer to suspend the laying this Affair before
the Grand Commee in hopes that my Letter will procure
a speedy & Handsome Remittance. If it does not; you
must: blame nobody but yourself for the Consequence

I am directed by Mr: Treasurer to put you
in mind of Three years Arrears of Mr: Minors Gift of 4s
Pr Ann due at Laday last for the House or Houses in
Lawrence Pountney Lane which you purchased of
Henry< no role > Sr: John Esqr :

This is a Charge on the Ground or Soil
on which the House stood as well as on the Building
and has been regularly paid for 170 years past without
Interruption (not withstanding the Dreadfull Fire
of London ) as this Demand wont, Admit, of a
Dispute. I make no Doubt but you will on Receipt
here of Discharge the above Arrears without further
Application
