Richard Jude< no role > of Drury Lane in the Parish of Saint
Clement Danes in the County of Middlesex Cordwainer Maketh
Oath and Saith That all Combination of the Defendant and others as
Journeymen Shoemakers was broke up and put an and to in January
last by the advice and direction of the Honourable Mr. Erskine and
Mr. [..] Counsel [..] and consulledon thefor and on the
behalf of the Deponant the Defendant in this prosecution and others
prosecuted in the Court of Kings Bench on the like accusation And
this Deponent further Saith that he with others having entered into
a verbal Agreement with the Master Shoemakers (The prosecutors)
to put and [..] nd to the said Combination he pleaded guilty to the said
Indictment on the promise which was agreed to that he should inter into
a Recognizance for one Year by Surety and in his own Recognizance
for three Years for his good Andcat and to keep the Peace which
Terms of compromise have been entered in and receded to in the
Prosecutions in the Court of Kings Bench and that the Wager were
left to the Judgment and discretion of the Masters And this Deponent
further Saith That by the perfect concurrence and approbation of the
Masters in General a regulation Cook place by which in several
Articles a reduction instead of an increase of the former Wages look
place and in other Articles on advance and that the regulation was
enterily optional with the Masters and continues so to be And this
Deponent further Saith That no combination whatever to the
knowledge information or belief of this Deponent now exists Amongst
the Journeymen Shoemakers but on the contrary that they and their
Masters an in a state of amity and friendship.
