in a Case of Felony

William Grieve< no role > of Breiver Street in the Parish of Saint
James Westminster in the County of Middlesex Shoe maker
[..] and Saith that same time previous to
[..] February Session of entered into a Recognizance
before Philip Steve< no role > Esquires his Majestys Justices of
the Peace for the said County to prosecute William
Barn
< no role > and at that Sessions for feloniously Stealing a pair
of Shoes the property of this Deponent And this Deponent
saith that during the said Sessions this Deponents
Wife and other parts of his family well very ill which
occasioned him this Deponent great distress of mind
and by reason there of and of this Deponents total
ignorance of the tenor of the said Recognizance the said
Defendant was not indicted a prosecuted for the said
offence And this Deponent further Saith that he
did not neglect to attend and prosecute the said
Defendant at such Sessions with a view or design
to favour him or for any revise of hope of Promise of
any reward but that his neglect was entirely [..]
[..] came and the illness
of [..] aforesaid
