Whereas Ann Castemore in the Examination taken in Writing
and upon Oath the Twenty Second day of January last before
George Mercer< no role > Esquire one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace
in and for the said County Did declare that She was delivered
of a Female Bastard Child in the Work house in the Parish of
St. Mary Le Bone on the Eleventh day of November last And
Further that William Lane< no role > of Lumber Court in the Parish
of St. Giles in the Fields in the said County Fishmonger was
the real and true Father of the said Child And Whereas
the said William Lane< no role > did in Consequence there of enter into
Recognizance with sufficient Surety to abide and Perform
such Order as should be made in pursuance of an Act
made and passed in the 18th. Year of the Reign of her late
Majesty Queen Elizabeth Concerning Bastards be gotten and
Born out of lawfull Matrimony These are therefore to
Certify his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for this County
at their General Quarter Session of the Peace for this County
that the said William Lane< no role > hath clearly indemnified and
exonerated the said Parish of St. Mary Le Bone for and on
Account of all and all manner of Expences which have
been incurred by reason of the Maintenance and lying in of
the said Ann Cashmore< no role > and all other Expences relative
there to In Witness our Hands this 13th. day of April 1798
