Whereas Mary Hill< no role > in her Examination taken in Writing
and upon Oath before James Mercer< no role > Esquire one of His Majesty's
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County on the Second
day of January Instant did declare that she was then
with Child and that the Child or Children with which she
then went and was pregnant were likely to be Born a Bastard
or Bastards and to be Chargeable to the said Parish And
Further that Barton Pym< no role > a Minature Painter of No19
Exetor Street Brompton was the real and true father of the Child
or Children so likely to be Born And Whereas the said
Barton Pym< no role > did in Consequence thereof enter into Recognizance
with sufficient Justices to abide and perform such order as
Should be made in pursuance of the Act of the 18th. Year of the
Reign of her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth. These are
to Certify his Majesty's Justices of the Peace at their several
Quarter Session of the Peace for this County that the said
Barton Pym< no role > hath clearly indemnified and exonerated the
said Parish of St. Mary Le Bone Witness our Hands the
13th. day of January 1798.
