To the Worshipful His Majesty's Justices of the Peace
acting in and for the County of Middlesex in General
Quarter Session of the peace for the said County Assembled.

The Humble Petition and Appeal of Robert Clarke< no role >
of Leicester in the County of Leicester Carrier -


Sheweth


That by a certain conviction under the Hand and Seal
of John Spiller< no role > Esquire one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for
the County of Middlesex bearing date the nineteenth day of June
One thousand seven hundred and Ninety seven made on the
Information of one Edward Bonnett< no role > your Petitioner was convicted
as therein alledged for that your Petitioner did on the [..] fifth
day of October One thousand seven hundred and Ninety six at the
Parish of Finchley in the County of Middlesex unlawfully use and
cause to be used a waggon of which your Petitioner was alledged to
be the Owner upon a certain Turnpike Road in the said Parish of
Finchley in the said County of Middlesex having the Fellies of the
wheels of the breadth of nine Inches which said Waggon so having
the Fellies of the Wheels of the breadth of nine Inches did pass and
was drawn on the said Turnpike Road in the said Parish of Finchley
in the said County of Middlesex with more than eight Horses(that
is to say
with nine Horses contrary to the statute in such case made
and provided And the said Justice did thereby declare and adjudge
that your Petitioner had for feiled the sum of Five pounds of lawful
I koney of Great Britain for the offence aforesaid to be distributed
as the Law directed according to the Four of the statute in that
case made and provided.

That your Petitioner thinks himself aggrieved by
the Judgement of the said Justice And therefore.

Your Petitioner doth appeal to your
worships at this present General Quarter
Session of the Peace against the Judgement
of the said Justice and doth pray such relief
in the premises as to your Worships shall
seem meet.
