Payment appeard to be in Consequence of the very great Demands
lately made on him and the difficulty of obtaining the money
assessed on the several Parishes towards the County Rate but
that the Court had given Directions to the Treasurer
to pay
the Money due to the City out of the first Monies which
should come to his hands.

Resolved That Mr. Joseph Burchell< no role >
the County Treasurer
be Allowed the sum of £200. as a Recompence for the trouble
and Expence he has been put to in consequence of the Duties
imposed on him as County Treasurer
by the several Laws
relating to the Militia Service from September 1794 to
September 1796. and that the Clerk of the peace
do issue an
Order upon the Treasurer of the County
for payment thereof

Behviour which had been reported to have lately taken
place amongst the Prisoners when in the Chapel at the
House of Correction in Cold Bath fields
