Severally Maketh Oath and saith and first this Deponent

for himself saith that he did Enter into
Recognizance before the sitting Majestrates at the Place
Office Hatton Garden
for the Personal Apperance of the
Above named Defendant in April Sessions last And this
Deponent further saith that he caused a Solicitor of
the Name of Mr. william Chester< no role >
to conduct the defence in
this Prosecutor which he this Deponent had every Reason to
believe he would do having Received divers Sums of
Money for that Purposeand

Great Surprise Received a Letter from the Clerk of the peace
for the County of Middlesex
informing him that the said
Recognizance would be Estraited into his Majesty's Court of
Exchequer
although the said Mr. Chester the Solicitor informed this
Deponent the said Indictment was settled and that he had no
further Call there And this Deponent further saith that
the Defendent Thomas Pain< no role >
for whom this Deponent
