Joshua Jones Prichard< no role > of Doctors Commons London gentleman
Solicitor to the Philanthropic Society Maketh Oath and Saith
that he was some time since informed by the abovenamed Anthony
Wright
< no role > that he had been applied to by the abovenamed William
Holden
< no role > to became a Collector of Subscriptions as for the Else of
the Philanthropic Society and the said William Holden< no role > not
being a Collector authorized by the said Society and Impositions
having been made on the Public by Persons collecting Money
under the false Pretence of being employed by the said
Society so to do and Suspicting the said William Holden< no role > to
be one of such Present he this Deponent desired the said
Anthony Wright< no role > [..] to Lugage with the said William
Holden
< no role > for the Purpose of detecting in such Impositions
which he consented to do had this Deponent saith that he
hath been informed and believes that the said Anthony Wright< no role >
did accordingly engage with the said William Holden< no role > and
that the said William Holden< no role > did on or above the Ninty
first of December last Persuade the above Prosecutor to
contribute one Shilling as for the use of the Philanthropic
Society which Shilling this Deponent is informed was paid
into the Hands of the said Anthony Wright< no role > and afterwards
Paid by him to the said William Holden< no role > and that the said
William Holden< no role > and Anthony Wright< no role > were apprehended and
taken before Patrick Colquhoun< no role > Esquire one of his Majestys
Justice of the Peace for the County of Middlesex on or about
the First Day of January instant and that the said Anthony
Wright
< no role > not chusing to disclose that he was merdy employed
to direct the said William Holden< no role > the Prosecutor was bound
over to Prosecute with him and the said William Holden< no role > for
Obtaining the said Shilling underfalse Pretences And this
Deponent saith that he is advised that as the said Shilling
so obtained was not paid by the Prosecutor into the Hands
of
